As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, including reporting and analyses, budget preparation, multi-state payroll management, tax preparations and filings, employee onboarding and benefits administration, and more. In this role, you will report directly to the Controller and have the opportunity to contribute to departmental processes and best practices. You will also participate in strategic budgetary planning meetings and additional high-impact areas of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in budgetary planning meetings, prepare reports and oversee budget administration
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses
  • Oversee multi-state payroll, including commission allocation and payroll reporting
  • Recruiting and candidate pipeline management for internal teams
  • Prepare and file tax documents and returns, including federal and state required reports for all states of operation
  • Manage employee onboarding process, including completion of all necessary onboarding documentation, scheduling and coordination of necessary training, and benefits enrollment
  • Manage ongoing employee benefits administration
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions
  • Pay invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling and preparing disbursements, obtaining payment authorization (Payroll- Salaries & Commissions, Expense Reports, Vendors.)
  • Collect revenue by verifying transaction information, calculating charges and refunds, preparing and mailing invoices,identifying delinquent accounts and insufficient payments
  • Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and issues necessary adjustments
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls
  • Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents
  • Contribute to team effort by collaborating on team projects as needed

Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in accounting and human resources functions as a Senior Accountant or similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks, other financial software
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with CRM software, DropBox, and Google Drive
  • Strong administrative, organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
